Tu B’Av

Today is Tu B’Av, which can be simply explained as a Jewish Valentine’s Day. Tu B'Av was a joyous holiday in the days of the Temple in Jerusalem, marking the beginning of the grape harvest. Yom Kippur marked the end of the grape harvest. On both dates the unmarried girls of Jerusalem dressed in white garments, and went out to dance in the vineyards.

so here I am, in Elmer, New Jersey, wearing white (this dress is second hand J.Crew) and dancing in the vineyards!

i started one relationship on Valentine’s Day 2020. I ended a second relationship on Valentine’s Day 2021. Maybe Jewish Valentine’s day will bring better luck. The truth is I’m not ready to date just yet. I’m working on my healing right now. But this weekend is already so special. The people here are wonderful and I know I will get so much out of being here. I’m also with the Oyven crew again, and that’s always fun. The purple car is brilliant and I’m so grateful that it gets me safely from one place to another. Happy Tu B’Av and may all single people find their match in the exact perfect timing according to God‘s plan. Amen.
