I had a green dress picked out for today’s post, but it didn’t come together like I hoped. Instead, I have an amazing thrifted Nicole Miller silk men’s shirt with a taco print! Maybe I’ll post the green dress on Cinco de Mayo and all will be right. When I saw this shirt at Community Thrift in SF a few months ago, I wasn’t sure what to do with it. The pattern is so unique and I realized I could belt it and wear it like a dress. It was also $12 and that’s less than a sandwich these days. I’ve always admired Nicole Miller’s designs and they remind me of the 90s. She’s just so good at patterns. My Aunt Penny has one of these shirts too! I think it‘s a medicine cabinet print. The green/gold belt is from Anthropologie many years ago. That used to be one of my favorite stores, and it always smelled nice in there. I have a few belts but they aren’t my go-to. Only if an outfit really needs one. I do enjoy a dress with a matching belt, however.
The gold shoes are, of course, Melissa. I’ve always enjoyed green and gold together. It reminds me of leprechauns searching for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. I always thought that might be real.
Today is also a super special day because a brand new soul has entered this world. My dear friend, Whitney, birthed a baby boy named River Bailey, just 2 minutes after midnight! I can’t wait to meet him and tell him stories about his mom and I in high school. Whitney also worked at Anthropologie for a while!
