Singing circle

Today’s dress is a vintage piece from a shop in the east village. I saw it on the mannequin as I walked by one day, but they were closed. I went on the store‘s Instagram and wrote to them how much I liked it and would have to come back for it. They responded immediately and opened the store and I bought it without even trying it on. Luckily it fit! I’m pretty good at eyeballing that stuff. It’s such a pretty color and floral pattern. And I like the neckline too.

yesterday I gave up my excellent parking spot and drove to Brooklyn to see my family. I had a sweet time with the kids and then got dinner with my mom before she heads back to Budapest today. I got a little sad because the owners of the Airbnb where I damaged the lawn with my car stuck in the mud situation are charging quite a lot of money for that. I’m sure it was a Mercury in retrograde thing, and money is just money after all, but it felt like another blow. I also got stuck in a ridiculous amount of traffic on my way to Brooklyn. I don‘t think I’ve been in such bad traffic before and then had trouble finding parking, so my anxiety was high. At the end of the day, my friend Sprintza hosted a singing circle in her backyard. We met over the summer at a Jewish retreat and quickly bonded over our love of singing. Another friend of hers was there also and it was a great way to end the day. Hopefully it will become a regular thing. And she lives pretty close to my sister so I can combine the two if I plan well. today I’m pretty tired from not sleeping so well, but I’m going to the botanic gardens with a friend. Should be fun.
