Today’s dress is the strawberry dress. I’ve had it for years. I found it on Amazon for a very affordable price and it’s a simple yet fun dress to wear, especially when I pair it with strawberry accessories (of which I have a few). This dress was the model for my own dresses that I designed and sewed. I still haven’t conquered sewing stretchy fabric, but it’s on my list. I found this dress is a few different patterns—one was a map of game of thrones. I never really got into that show. I don’t like watching a lot of violence. since my Florida trip was extended, I realized I needed a few more dress pics so I wouldn’t miss a blog entry. Yesterday i was privileged to spend time with a rabbi named Shohama. We sang together while her husband played harmonica. She took me on a tour of pelican cove where they live. Another funny thing is that she led the congregation on city island for many years. City island in the Bronx, has become a favorite place of mine. I plan to go there soon and attend a service. One of my intentions is to work on my relationship with God. You’d think maybe it would be easier for the daughter of a religious man, but it’s not. I never really put in the work to do it. I just assumed God would know what I wanted and give it to me. When that didn’t happen I felt disappointed. But at 38 years old, I know I need to practice letting God in. I find myself distracted a lot. Yoga scares me and meditation is relatively new. But when I do it, it helps. Shohama gave me a bracelet that says gevurah, teahuvah, strength, resilience, courage, daring. I will wear it. She also took the pics for my post/blog today. I am thankful. Shabbat Shalom. I’ll be attending an in person service tonight.
