I love polka dots. I lost a really cute polka dot dress in a breakup a few months ago. It’s a long story but it’s gone forever. So when I saw this dress at Beacon’s closet, I knew I needed it. It’s navy, although it may look black in the pictures. I like how the bust is a different color than the rest of the dress. The material is a breezy polyester that’s pretty classic of the 60s/70s. I am a big fan of layering, for a number of reasons. First, some people prefer to dress modestly and still look fashionable. This is a way to do that. Another reason is change in seasons. Layering a dress can easily take you from summer to fall. I like to pick a thin top, like this one from Uniqlo, because it won’t bunch up and look strange under a dress. I also like to pick a neutral color like black, or one that matches with a color in the dress. This dress is pretty casual, but it’s always fun to dress it up with a nice pair of shoes, like these ones I found in Puerto Rico. That was such a good trip—I can’t wait to go back! Happy Earth Day! Let’s treat this planet with love and respect.
