Mad Men

Today’s dress is a collection that Banana Republic did with the popular show Mad Men. I don’t know more about the collaboration, but it says Mad Men on the tag. I only watched a few episodes of Mad Men. i would have liked to watch more, but it was so many episodes and I gave up. around that time, the lead actress Elisabeth Moss began rising to fame. It turns out we look alike, and people began telling me that quite often. I‘ve always enjoyed the comparison and hope to meet her someday. I wonder if she’ll see it too. last night was the first night of Chanukah and I went to my aunt Marianne’s home near Boston. I’ve found driving over here sort of stressful. The roads are windy and the exits seem to come out of nowhere. Today is my drive back to NYC and I’m a little relieved to get back to places I know better! I only have a few days in NY before im off again, to LA and Big Sur, with my friend Tod. I think it will be a great, and healing trip, but I do wish I’d given myself a little more time at home. But with the holidays so soon, I was getting into Christmas prices territory. Marianne (or Mimi, as we’ve always called her) made a great meal of brisket, noodle pudding, latkes and salad. it was really nice to spend time with her. This has been a good family trip. I’m glad I got to stay with my cousin Caroline for a few days too. She reminded me that she will always show up for thanksgiving, even when our siblings don’t. Together we’ve gone through boxes of family photos and some letters. It’s amazing how much my grandmother and great grandmother kept. Even my great great great grandmother is in there! Her name was amelia Weil. She had rose, who had Bess, who had my grandma Margie. I like seeing the different faces and trying to see who resembles who. But my grandma, like me, had a Cohen face.
