Today’s Daily Dress has a few components! I got the dress a few months ago at Held Over, an SF vintage store in Haight Ashbury. It’s very fitted and has a cool pattern on it. Maybe African fabric? The blue leather jacket I found recently in Astoria at the Salvation Army on Steinway, with my vintage soul sister, Sammy D! She and I met when I took her Airbnb shopping tour at the end of 2019. Best day ever. The bag is a Balenciaga I found on a trip to Auckland, New Zealand in 2009. I think it was $400 NZD which was like half that in USD at the time. Bargain. And finally, my grandma‘s ferragamo shoes! I had the heel replaced but I really haven’t worn them. They’re special to me. My grandma had a very different style from me, but she left me a few good pieces and some jewelry too. It will be fun to share those items. I miss her so much. She passed in December 2008 and her funeral ended up being on what would have been her 80th birthday. It was surreal. I came back from Australia, where I was living at the time, in order to go. This outfit is a variety of colors and really exemplifies how I put an outfit together. I don’t usually spend a lot of time on it, it just happens! I guess that’s a benefit of having a large wardrobe. I feel like I can’t really go wrong. I love color and wearing things that jump out at me!
