Today’s outfit is Capezio dance wear. I found it over the summer at a garage sale in Moretown, Vermont. I knew it would be perfect for my week at Esalen, in Big Sur. I’d heard of Esalen many times and even went to the night bathing once. Before the pandemic, they would open the bathhouse to non-guests in the middle of the night. It was sort of crazy that I went, but I just wanted to experience a small piece of it. This time I got much more than that. My dear friend Tod has been to Esalen many times and invited me to join him for a 5 Rhythms workshop. I’ll go into more of what that means at a later time, but it’s a movement meditation practice. It was a really special 4 days meeting new people, soaking in hot baths, eating nourishing food and dancing every day as a group. I loved it and was sad to leave. I hope to go back someday. I learned more about myself and what I’ve been looking for. I learned about forgiveness. I held space for others and their pain. I felt a oneness with everyone.
