This is a Leifsdottir dress for Anthropologie that I bought from Poshmark. It still had the original tags on it. At first I thought it didn’t look that good but now I like it. The beading on the back is nice too. I bought a few more dresses yesterday in Woodstock Vermont at a shop called Who is Sylvia? The name comes from shakespeare. it was by appointment only, but I sent the owner, Jess, a message on Instagram and she met me there shortly after. She had amazing stuff. there was one dress that was on hold for a dealer and I wish I could have bought it. I took a picture of it though. It was from the 1930s and in excellent condition! The owner wasn’t very chatty, which was kind of a bummer. I‘m always interested in how people came to this kind of work. it tends to be people filled with a passion for it.
as I write this, I’m camping with my friend Deborah and her 8 year old daughter Merav. Camping is pretty fun! The rain is falling hard outside. My 6th grade teacher Shoshana from the Heschel school also happens to be here, which is really special. She and her wife run a program for women to become Jewish priestesses called Kohenet. Today there is also a mikveh! Excited for the next few days here.
