Yesterday I started volunteering at a yoga center in downtown Manhattan. I dusted and organized the store for two hours. Then I took a very gentle yoga class with a lovely teacher named Kitty. It was such a nice end of the day. I also applied for a 10 day silent meditation retreat that would start next Wednesday! I don’t know if I’ll be accepted into it yet, but if I am, I’d really like to go. I think it would be a good opportunity to really dive into this, and try and quiet my mind, which is what gets me into all sorts of trouble and sticky situations. I’ve been working on self care the last few days. I try not to leave my apartment too much if I don’t have to. I have writing assignments that I’m working on. I check in with friends and do outreach in my programs. I’m getting the podcast set up so I can start doing that with my dad. But the idea of a 10 day meditation sounds really grounding. It’s only a 2 hour drive away.
